Our Partner Brands
We are so proud of the 25 (and counting!) amazing brands that we’ve partnered up with on The Landing. We’ve carefully curated an assortment of diverse and unique pieces to help you create a space that doesn’t just serve the purpose of home, but truly feels like a reflection of YOU. Our process for choosing who to partner with is detailed! We consider sustainability, where the pieces are being manufactured and how, and what ethos the brand founded on so that we can confidently bring them to you!
We value long-term customer relationships, and we partner with suppliers producing high quality, sustainable products with a view toward reducing furniture landfill. To quote Floyd Detroit, “Floyd began because we were tired of disposable furniture. So we set out to design products of lasting quality for how people live today. Furniture should be made for the home, not the landfill.”
Attention to quality in the manufacturing process, as well as the fair and safe treatment of workers is also top of mind for us when we are choosing which brands to partner with. To quote our partner Revival Rugs, “we believe in affordable luxuries. This means we rely on high-grade, long-lasting materials and intelligent processes. We select and produce pieces which “show the hand”, because luxury is not automated. It also means we cultivate relationships to last, pay people fairly, and charge fair prices for our product.”
Below we’ve outlined some of the main things we keep top of mind when sourcing products for The Landing assortment. We’re excited to introduce our new badge system that will allow you to quickly understand the values that each of our partner brands hold, and help you feel confident in your purchasing decisions.
1. BIPOC Owned
As a platform that introduces our customers to new brands, we have the ability to have an outsized impact in supporting and amplifying the reach of diverse brands. We are excited to launch with a supplier brand base that is ~25% female-owned, ~15% PoC-owned. However, we still have significant work to do. As such, we are committing to the 15% pledge of having 15% of our brands be Black-owned businesses, by the end of the year. In addition, we will be applying an intersectional lens to our existing environmental and sustainability goals, one that advocates for the protection of both people and our planet. While we are committed to actively seeking out Black-owned businesses and designers ourselves, we know that our own networks are echo-chambers of the same brands.
For our partner Jasz, Founder of Takusanu Senegal - being a female founder of color is about changing the status-quo; “I really wanted to do something that could benefit other women and my 3 daughters. I had challenges in life like most people, but being a woman of color raising daughters, I really wanted them to have a sense of stability. I know that a lot of makers are women, especially in Senegal, have not had the same opportunities as myself. Tackussanu Senegal was created to help change that.”
2. Female Founded
As a female-founded company ourselves, championing women in business is literally in our DNA. We’re so proud to work with brands like Spacey Studios, who are equally as passionate and driven to support women in following their passions, starting their own businesses, and continuing to shift the landscape and understanding of WHO can be a business owner.
Our partner Kate E. Hoffman, Founder of Spacey Studios has created a business model that hinges on the desire to continuously inspire: “every season, Spacey drops a new collection of artwork, from a new group of artists. Each collection is inspired by a trend or topic at the forefront of culture at the moment. So collecting with Spacey allows you to curate an artistic diary of the world on your walls. AKA - your world inspires our stories, these stories become art, and your art becomes a timepiece.”
At The Landing, we’re constantly exploring how our spaces can reflect the moments that we are living through. How great to be able to simultaneously support businesses that reflect our values while creating those spaces?
3. Made in USA
In line with our focus on sustainability, we love partnering with brands who source, and manufacture their products locally. Inside Weather is one example of a partner with home field advantage when it comes to production - the company proudly manufacturers and ships their products from the SF Bay Area!
4. Fair Trade Certified
The Fair Trade Certification “represents thousands of products, improving millions of lives, protecting land and waterways in 45 countries and counting. Purchases have sent $740 million to farmers and workers since 1998” (Fair Trade Certified).
We believe that the only products worth having are products that were made in fair and ethical manufacturing processes throughout the supply chain. The Fair Trade Certification provides these ethical assurances at a level of detail and responsibility that we are proud to value at The Landing.
5. Certified B Corporation
Certified B Corporations “are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy” (Certified B Corporation).
This statement was taken from the Certified B Corporation website, and speaks directly to business standards and values that we, The Landing, hold as well. We champion partnering with brands that meet these standards so that we can be a part of “harnessing the power of business, [and using] profits and growth as a means to a greater end: positive impact for employees, communities, and the environment” (Certified B Corporation).
